Important: Read Before Using SpectralBench

SpectralBench is a free, community-oriented tool provided for educational, informational, and general research exploration purposes only. It is not a validated analytical instrument, not a certified reference system, and not a substitute for professional scientific analysis performed by qualified individuals using calibrated, traceable equipment.

No Guarantee of Accuracy

LumenMark LLC ("we", "us", "our") makes no representations or warranties whatsoever regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, suitability, or availability of any information, analysis, data output, spectral interpretation, peak identification, compound matching, curve fitting result, file conversion, or any other output produced by SpectralBench (the "Service").

Spectral analysis is inherently complex. Results can be affected by file format variations, instrument-specific encoding, noise, baseline artifacts, resolution differences, and countless other factors. Browser-based processing using JavaScript has inherent floating-point precision limitations. Any output from the Service may contain errors, omissions, or artifacts that could lead to incorrect conclusions if relied upon without independent verification.

You use the Service and rely on its output entirely at your own risk.

Not for Clinical, Diagnostic, or Regulatory Use

SpectralBench must not be used for:

  • Medical or clinical decisions — including but not limited to patient diagnosis, treatment planning, pharmaceutical analysis, drug purity testing, or any decision that could affect human health or safety
  • Regulatory submissions or compliance — including submissions to the FDA, EMA, EPA, OSHA, or any regulatory body; GLP/GMP compliance testing; or any analysis requiring validated methods under 21 CFR Part 11 or equivalent regulations
  • Safety-critical applications — including food safety analysis, drinking water testing, environmental contamination assessment, hazardous materials identification, forensic evidence analysis, or materials certification for structural or aerospace applications
  • Legal or forensic proceedings — the Service's output should not be presented as evidence or expert analysis in any legal context
  • Quality control in manufacturing — including raw material verification, batch release testing, or process analytical technology (PAT) decisions

If your application requires validated, traceable, or GxP-compliant analysis, you must use properly validated software and calibrated instrumentation operated by qualified personnel.

No Liability for Consequences

Under no circumstances shall LumenMark LLC, its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any damages whatsoever — including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — arising from or related to:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the Service's output
  • Any decisions made or actions taken based on the Service's output
  • Loss of data, corruption of files, or degradation of data quality during format conversion or processing
  • Incorrect identification of spectral peaks, compounds, functional groups, or materials
  • Any personal injury, property damage, financial loss, regulatory penalty, legal liability, or other harm of any nature resulting directly or indirectly from your use of the Service
  • Interruption, suspension, or termination of the Service at any time for any reason

This limitation applies regardless of whether the damages are based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and regardless of whether LumenMark LLC has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Reference Data and Third-Party Content

SpectralBench may include or reference spectral databases, peak assignment tables, compound libraries, or other reference data compiled from publicly available scientific literature and databases. This reference data is provided for convenience only and may be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors. We do not warrant the accuracy of any third-party reference data. Always verify identifications against authoritative, peer-reviewed sources and certified reference standards.

Assumption of Risk

By using SpectralBench, you acknowledge that you understand the limitations described in this Disclaimer and you voluntarily assume all risks associated with the use of the Service and its output. You agree that you are solely responsible for any consequences that arise from your use of or reliance on the Service, including any downstream decisions, publications, reports, or actions based on the Service's output.

We may update this Disclaimer at any time without notice. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
