Sample Description
Polymorphous with Dickite, Halloysite and Nacrite. A spectrum for this sample was published by: Clark, R.N. and P.G. Lucey, 1984, Spectral Properties of Ice-Particulate Mixtures and Implications for Remote Sensing I: Intimate Mixtures: J. Geophys. Res., 6341-6348. Dry sieved to less than 63 µm. The mean grain size is 10-20 µm according to Clark and Lucey (1984), but is probably closer to 10 µm. From the visible-near-IR spectrum, the kaolinite appears spectrally pure. IMAGE_OF_SAMPLE:
