Sample Description
Whole flakes of mica were hand selected for this measurement from a matrix of finer material that may also magnesite. This should allow for a clean spectrum of the vermiculite. G. Swayze. IMAGE_OF_SAMPLE:
XRD Analysis
Not vermiculite - not pure (Norma Vergo). Spectrally pure, but not chemically pure. (Norma Vergo). This is a vermiculite that is Mg and Al rich with a strong MgAl[ ]OH vacancy absorption at 2.24 microns that is usually much weaker or absent in other vermiculite samples. There is no spectral evidence for magnesite contamination. G. Swayze.
